We are “ALL” Gods Children
…one day in every week that was set apart for the people to gather to worship, Mosiah 18:25
What would YOU do, if someone walked into church like this?
Would you think or maybe say to the person next to you ‘It takes all kinds’!
His prayer mannerisms are obviously different than what we do at church.
Well, this happened last week as we were visiting my aunt’s ward. He sat in front of us, and sadly, someone, not of our group indeed said ‘it takes all kinds.’
We all watched him in wonder and awe (myself with tender gratitude that he was there worshiping the Lord) as he set so reverently, sang the hymns, turned with respect toward the sacrament table for the blessing of the bread and water, his listening intently to the talks.
After the meeting the stake patriarch and another brother from the stake came down to talk with him. I later found out that the patriarch and his wife had recently returned from a mission to the Middle East.
I waited to tell him thank you for his reverent example. Other members of our group shook his hand to welcome him.
We need to be welcoming to those who are not like what we would expect, to be able to worship as well. We don’t know their story. But they are there.
If not, we hath not charity, and our worship profiteth us nothing.
