There were a couple a poignant thoughts today that I wanted to share with my fellow travelers.
The first two came from a young man who returned from a mission the last week. He quoted someone who had returned from his mission and we can view this whether you serve a mission as an elder or sister, but in our mission in life. He said: “A mission didn’t make him who he was; A mission took away what he wasn’t!”
He then share his favorite scripture, Mosiah 7:33 and suggested that we put our name into it as if the scripture is being directed to us, which in all reality it is.
But if ye (name) will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, he will, according to his own will and pleasure, delivery you (name) out of bondage.
The next thought came from his mother, as she was released from her calling today in the Young Women’s Presidency. The trials we face are the Mt. Everest’s of our lives. We need to focus on the Lord in order to make it to the summit safely.
Thankfully we don’t travel alone in this life. Let’s lean on each other, lift each other, and even carry one another if needed.
A few years back I found a piece of artwork titled “The Ascent” by David Linn. I fell in love with it, that it was only thing I asked for, as a gift for, I believe, Christmas and my birthday (I’m a December baby).
I can’t show a picture of it here, but it is available to view and order here www.history.churchofjesuschrist.org.
