Out with the ‘Old’ and in with the ‘New’

I received a new wallet that someone anonymously made for someone in our ward so that it could brighten them up. I was chosen.

Look at the cute beads on the zipper
Lots of room! And the fabrics used?!

This was the ‘Old One’ that served me well for a long time.

I loved it first, as it is burgundy/maroon and that is one of my favorite colors.

Second, LOOK at the room. It could and did hold a lot.

While this wallet has served me well and it was able to last a little while longer, this new wallet has caused me to make changes. It can’t hold as much as the old one, so I needed to choose to get rid of some things, which isn’t a bad thing. Haha, how many old receipts does one need? Let’s not forget all of the old gift cards, membership cards, and anything else I didn’t need. Haha.

So–while I was making this change, it prompted me to move forward with another desperately needed change. My purse has handles that are really wearing out. Almost to the point of breaking.

It was quite a favorite of mine as well and it went well with the wallet. Including holding a lot of things. Of course, that is why it wore out. Haha. So I went to a thrift store and spent $2 and got this like a brand new one.

It needed it to be big enough to hold the necessities. When I was at the store, I would empty out my purse and put the items in the different purses I was liking to make sure they held those things.

There are three important items I needed the purse to hold besides the usual wallet, tissues, reading glasses, and keys. My notes books.

These two are my idea books. I had only one of these at first but needed to purchase a new one because I couldn’t find the first one.

I get a lot of ideas and thoughts and have found I really want to write some of them down especially with my memory troubles. These are pretty important to me but not as important as my third notebook. This holds thoughts and impressions of a more religious nature, words from church and conference talks, and more spiritual things.

This was just a small change during a time that brought on other changes. Change is never-ending and should be embraced. I have not always dealt well with change. I am controlling that way. Sometimes it’s been my idea to change but a lot of times. it has not.

I know there will be more change in the future, I only pray I will be able to deal with it when it comes. Tell us about some of the changes you have gone through and how you dealt with them, or even ones you plan on making.

Here is a link to a thought that I found on Pinterest that I wanted to share.

See you next time on the journey.
